This is paranoia. You do realize that, right?
It's basically just fear of change, from the way things have been.
But guess what. The way things have been is to have
gender and sexual suppression for centuries as the result of
another--more overt--conspiracy: namely the Catholic Church.
Sexual energy is very powerful, and people can't be controlled
unless that is controlled, so the suppression of it by
"Church rules" that were indoctrinated into society was
just a means to control people. Gender equality, sexual
equality, and sexual freedom as reflected by the feminist
movement, gay rights movement, and adult entertainment industry
(respectively), I consider a good thing. It's an expression
of centuries of frustration and a means to release the
shackles of oppression. Trying to connect this in to
some banking industry conspiracy is paranoia.
I'm not saying that the banking industry might not have
a hidden conspiratorial agenda at work to gain power, but
guess what . . . they are not the only conspiratorial group
trying to vy for power. Catholic church is another
(although they've been losing power recently due to scandals),
radical Islam (overt conspiracy) is another in their
attempt to forcibly convert the entire world into
an individual freedom suppressed state of rigid dogmatic
Islamic law, Chinese imperialism is yet another, and
I consider the capitalist giant that wants everyone to
be "consumers" and "buy stuff" is another . . . a form
of mind control to keep people acting as sheep and
avoid self-growth.
The solution to any and all such conspiracies is
self-empowerment. If you are self-empowered, you
give up your control to no one. I think this is
becoming more and more common, especially with the
youth. Having grown up with the internet, they
no longer view themselves as "citizens" of a government,
but instead just people living on one globe. It's hard
to have allegiance to any one country or agency when
you have friends via the internet from all around the
world. So these conspiratorial groups can try to
establish power, but I have the believe that any "successes"
they might have will ultimately be minor and inconsequential.
Even in worst case scenario, say in the case of totalitarian
regimes(look at history), the self-empowered Daoist pretty much
just took the approach of "I have no interest in the affairs
of government. If they start to infringe on
my individual life, I will disappear and be
a hermit in a location where I can't be found."
And this is only worst case scenario, which I doubt highly
will happen for reasons mentioned earlier.
So I worry not about conspiracies.
I didn't worry about the "forced vaccination conspiracy"
of the swine flu vaccine that many promoted on this list
last year, and I said it would never happen; likewise, I'm not
going to worry about any other real (or imagined)
conspiracy.
In the meantime, any individual or group of people whose
actions are to promote personal freedoms and liberties,
and to supplant suppression, I support. Will society
change? Probably. Is it something to fear? No.
