MessageWikipedia makes this Torsion Field Theory you
refer to look like a scam. I wouldn't say
that of Twistor theory, however.
Twistor theory is a mathematical physics theory
created in the 1960's that is a competing viewpoint
over the multitude of higher dimensions needed to
make string theory or superstring theory work. It
is still an active area of physics research.
Of course, none of these theories--twistor, string,
superstring, etc.--seem to solve all the puzzles in physics.
It remains to be seen if one of them will solve
some underlying problems via the right ingenuity
in the theory, or whether physics will find a better theory.
