MessageNN: To me what Michael is saying (and I agree) is that the Buddhist doctrines often give the impression that meaning is not to be found here and now but in some 'other' place.
================
To understand what Buddha taught and why he gave the precepts, one has to follow his path- not by burning incents, giving offering to the statues, living in a temple or shaving your head. All he taught was methods of meditation that are based on here and now, on being present, on being aware and observant. If you walk, you walk. If you eat, you eat. How can be any different if he saw this reality created over and over again every instance all anew?
