Emptiness has no knowledge of infinite potentialityFrom: rex

MessageHi Fajin/Michael,
Thanks for the clarification. So Emptiness can be seen as quality of existence and not as an absolute state. Coincidently, I was listening to a webcast by Namkhai Norbu who stated that even though Buddhist sutra states that absolute truth is emptiness this is not all. We have infinite potentiality as well. If Emptiness gives us no knowledge of our infinite potentiality then emptiness has no value! How this infinite potentiality is conceived is up to anyone. From the tantric perspective, this infinite potentiality can be evoked through sacred dance, movement, chanting visualisation etc. The idea is to integrate movement and existence in meditation practice so that everything is practice.
I don't suppose we’d ever find universally acceptable answers to the idea of emptiness and it's utility on the spiritual path (viva la difference!), but I think can see various points of convergence and divergence with what I have written and quoted and what others have said.
Best,
Rex
