MessageHi Singing Ocean,
The form that you have on VCD is different and I don't think that there are any VCD's with the taiji I learned. Grandmaster Zhong Yun Long headed to the Wudang Mountains and sought out many masters and they past their secrets onto him and he with another master opened up the academy.
The only taiji form that I practice, out of a culmination of maybe over 250 different forms from over 30 martial art styles, is the sanfeng taiji 108 movement form. It begins with brush the left knee forward, not fists. It includes fa-jin strikes, leaping kicks, very low stances, and very flexible movements. It is quite an advanced form. The internal mechanics are also quite unique and very advanced. It takes a while to learn.
There is also a short 28 movement sanfeng form, but I dropped it because I don't need to practice that form anymore. My training consists of just that one 108 movement form (better than Erle's Yang Lu Chan form) and martial qigong from Tibetan Lion's Roar and a few other styles, including hunyuan zhan zhuang.
I don't keep track of what's going on with the monks coming here to perform and with the man in Richmond, so I honestly can't tell you. Sorry. You'd have to give me a link to their site so I can see it and comment on their practifce. But, if you are really interested in Wudang Taijiquan then you can probably give it a shot with that man in Richmond. Even just for health, an original form with the fa-jin strikes is very good. You may probably find an instructor somewhere around.
If you learn from VCD's that teach fa-jin, I recommend that you try some of Erle Monatigue's stuff on learning about fa-jin. Also, the Yang Lu Chan form he teaches is second best next to Wudang Taiji, imho.
Hope that helps, ask anytime, just not about what's going on in around the area as I probably won't know because I don't follow!
Smiles away,
Fajin
