It is very hard to give advice by internet. But usually the problems come from not developing energy body properly. This mea ns practice more deeply in Microcosmic orbit using Wudang Orbit method, not the other methods in Chia books (that I wrote).
Wudang orbit method will give you much better control. Plus more Healing Sounds, Fusion. Again, my fusion DVD is giving qigong different from Chia. The problemwith someone like you is too much energy inthe head, so practice is snot stable.
About girlfriend noticing your thoughts from far away. It is probably true. Woman cannot stand to be ignored. This makes their yin nature feel empty.
