Gil,
First off, happy year of the Dragon! I went to the celebration in Chinatown on
Saturday, and what was really funny was that the drummers refused to let the
dragon representing money leave until it had done a few extra dances. I guess that explains why things are in the shoddy state they are today? Who knows...

This is my speculation on how the Healing Tao curriculum came together: Chia either met a Taoist master OR copied some stuff out of the Taoist Canon and was
brilliant enough to get it working, much as some people can read a book on computer programming and be awesome right off the bat.

There were problems:

1. How does one maximize one's sexual energy?
2. How does one protect themself from losing touch with reality?

It seems that as Chia wandered about SouthEast Asia he was looking for the missing pieces in the puzzle. All of the classics on bedroom arts don't reveal
how to do it, so he made up the whole thing on the big draw.

The big draw doesn't work when you have a partner. Furthermore, you can mess
up your prostate big time. Massaging the perineum with a silk cloth doesn't do the job.

I have found the Dr. Lin's method works. He has a scientific explanation as to
why the physical mechanics he teaches are superior, and he explained the KEY as to why the big draw fails in most cases--something which I had figured out through very painful trial-and-error: sexual techniques only work if your pelvic
region is COMPLETELY free of obstruction. If your psoas is not in alignment, if your prostate is a little bit hard (bust out the dildo), nerves a little entangled... FAILURE. That is why he touts vacuum-cupping massage, and that is why many LIFE-LONG kunf-fu practitioners can perform the "big draw:" they have no obstructions.

Chia FAILED to reveal this simple truth over and over and as a result you have
individuals who embark on this path and then develop conflicts. They say: "well, I'm not proficient enough to give women what they need, but I don't like the feeling of energy loss." Then again, you can ask yourself: "Who is giving women what they need?" LOL

Anyway, take a trip over to Linplaza.com

So, what about Iron Shirt? Iron Shrit as Chia teaches it is stance training to develop root. That's it. Some form of it exists in ALL martial arts, only Chia
teaches active energy awareness.

He called it "Iron Shirt" for marketing purposes. It is NOT the real thing. Real "Iron Shirt" practitioners take spears into their throats, get run over by trucks and ultimately metamorph into full-fledged pugilists. Of course, if you
are pursuing immortality you could probably care less.

Bone Marrow Nei Kung, ass breathing and all of that wacky stuff
came from Siddhic tradition (not originally, though). Theirs is a very extreme, unbalanced lifestyle where you do nothing all day but practice. The stuff works if you've got the time (I chi-lifted for several years continuously)
but its' ultimate value has been questioned by many.

I think Alabor said it best a few posts down.

Look, if you are hanging around here you have a soul akin to that of a computer
hacker, although you are trying to hack reality. We have tools that need constant updating, sometimes we have to compile them ourselves, but we are driven. This is what we do with out lives. We travel about on a search for new technologies, and then we report on what works in our experience. None of us harbor any ill will against anyother Taoist, even though it may seem that way. 100% of our negativity comes from he fact that we get frustrated with our inability to accomplish our ideals. Is that the fault of the "system" we adopt?

Probably not. Spiritual traditions are fraught with difficulty, and often depend on luck/fate/destiny. The classics warn that you can be 99.999999% pure,
but that speck of impurity on the mirror of your spirit is enough to toss you back into hell.

Best of luck.
