MessageI am not clear about your real question.
The good and the bad about porn will be discussed till the end of times.
Personally it is neither appealing nor repulsive to me, I have no interest in it but I am not judging it either.
It is there, and serves the good and the bad in people depending on their situation.
For some it will be a 'good' thing, helpful to help their sexual repressed feelings, their feelings of loneliness, needs for sexual satisfaction when not available or problematic in a relationship. It serves some purpose to at least give some relieve on some level of a person's life.
It might even prevent harm to people in real life. It might give hope.
But so much of it is damaging on other levels of someone's life.
It might blind, it might distract from real life, looking at porn as the perfect situation, no longer realizing that a real relationship is WORK or no longer wanting to commit in a relationship that takes work.
Maybe it is there for the lazy ones, easy access, easy pleasure, easy satisfaction, no work, no stress.
Maybe it is there for the desperate ones, who want but can not find, a loving partner.
It all depends on where that person is standing in him/herself, in a fulfulling or harming relationship or lonely, desperate, seeking.
When you need porn, there is a need, so much is clear.
When there is deep love AND sexual satisfaction, the eyes, the heart and the soul do not need, do not want, the images of the masks of unknown others.
Why would you want to connect to an unknown body, an unknown soul, an unknown heart.
Maybe scared to connect with a real body, a real soul or a real heart?
Maybe not finding the right man/woman to connect with the way you want?
Is the virtual babe a safe situation where everything is under control, press button, stop button, rewind button,...
Is that what porn addicted people are looking for? Control over their life? Control over the lives of others? Without any emotional investment? Without the work of transformation? Just the instant pleasure and release?
Just thoughts that come up, no answers, no judgements
Only the person can judge whether he/she needs it for some period of time in their life, for some particular reason.
Oh and one last note. In countries where porn is forbidden, rape, abuse and sexual violence is all over the place too, only it is hidden, it happens behind closed doors. So saying that allowing porn or denying porn is helping to decrease or increase sexual violence is not dissolving the sexual anger or frustration on a large scale.
It is the personal virtue, the love for oneself, the connection with something more profound that ripples through your vains and expands from your heart that makes the difference.
