I remember a while back someone posted something about how contact lenses can be made from silk, and that this was considered green. But the article also described that silk was acquire by burning sleeping silk worms alive. Any opinions on how that is "green"? Is that "ethical" (yes, that's a highly subjective term..) at all? What has been the Chinese peoples' rationalization for this? Is there any other way to acquire silk? My current opinion is probably obvious from the questions I asked, but I also asked the questions because it's changable. thanks for any input
