MessageI was surprised recently to read a 1980 book by a jewish rabbi, When Bad Things Happen to Good People. by Kushner, whose kid suffered from birth from dwarfism and died at old age of 90 (biologically only 15 years old).
It lays out simple and clear "explanations" of suffering, and how the ONLY model that makes any sense is exactly the one being discussed here: that God creates Nature, but once it is created, cannot control it. Just like parents with their kids......
anyway, the book is well worth reading, short but articulate. It could free up more space for spiritual science model that includes both a creator God and free will in an ordered nature.
