MessageQuieting the mind and listening to the tao is great. Highly recommended. But as with listening to God there is the problem of human interpretation; ie God tells one people not to mix linen and cotton, another group to wipe out the people in the next valley.
So you have be careful on acting on heavenly commands. One possible rule of thumb is, if the 'tao' completely agrees with something that is clearly a construct of your own ego, it may coming from a less then pure source.
In other words when the tao says you are great and sublime(and I speak for all of us) and those who disagree with you are confused and separated then you may be mixing personal bias's with the taos.
As that great Taoist philosopher Humphrey Boggart once said, 'The tao doesn't give a hill of beans about your problems.'
Peace
Michael
