A lot of lovely posts in this thread - Thanks for inspiring it, Intelligence.
However, it may be worth noting that there seems to be some issue of whether you actually experience in your body, below the level of neck, the same level of frustration as you inspire in others.
My answer to your question about what humans seek universally is summed up in one word: completion.
But what completes us is a mystery, and that is why We (the collective of heaven, earth, & humanity) keep incarnating, to get to deeper and deeper into that Mystery.
And I think you well know that the Mystery is well beyond material science. It seems more likely you are simply expressing your personal need for more certainty and wider public support for your chosen path.
The mystery to me is why you confess that chi kung/alchemy work for you, that it doesn't need proof to you, but that it needs proof for the public at large.
If you and everyone else on this forum discovered its truth, why can't others discover it - without scientific proof? Aren't we the public?
That is the nature of grass roots revolutions.
