Very interesting. I found that unless one cultivates it's hard to understand ancient texts and, even if one thinks they do, it's only on superficial, intellectual level. Still I wonder if Tibetan Buddhists are not side-tracked into philosophical head games. Dalai Lama hadn't got it and his comments during his visit to Washington after we invaded Afghanistan were a total perversion of what Buddha taught.
I like the Gurdjief video because there is almost nothing available on the guy, at least not to the general public. The dzogchen book has a nice explanation of the mind from Tibetan Buddhism point of view, but still IMO Diamond sutra book by Nan Huai-Chin would be the choice if I had to choose One.
I noticed now I have trouble reading spiritual books. I'd rather meditate or do chikung/taiji.
